industry involves production house, advertisers, financers, viewers,
content producers, regulatory, TV rating companies, studio equipment,
broadcasting and syndication

Over the Air free Television and Pay per view are the three formats
prevailing
- Syndication means
means buying someone else’s television show and broadcasting it on your
station.
- Television shows are
generally financed by production houses . There are also occasions when
they are financed by individuals and or advertisers
- The Indian
Broadcasting Foundation is the regulatory organization for the Indian
television
industry having 24 major broadcasters and more than 100 television
channels
- The production houses
have their technical studios, locations to construct sets, and
equipment. Smaller production houses use studios and locations
that are rented out on a per day basis for shooting. Equipment too can
also be hired.
- The fundamental aim
of the Policy Frame-work for Satellite Communications in India approved
by the Cabinet is to develop a healthy and thriving communications
satellite and ground equipment industry as well as satellite
communications service industry in India.
- Investment of about
Rs.100 Crores may be required to set up and manage TV Channel
- Satellite
broadcasting including Direct to Home (DTH) TV broadcasting, may be
licensed by the Licensing Authority constituted under the relevant
statute, on Indian Satellite Systems or any other satellite system,
excepting those prohibited for the purpose by the competent authority,
notified by the Central Government in this regard, on technical or
security considerations.
