Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) (Polyanionic Cellulose) is a kind of nonionic cellulose ether featured the properties of high purity, high DS, particularly high viscosity or low viscosity. Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) is an indispensable product for drilling mud making. PAC is white or yellowish powder, which is non-toxic, odorless, and solvable in water, with stable resistance to heat, salt and bacteria. Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) is a good drilling mud additive and also an important material for confecting well liquid, a high mud volume product that featured high acid-resistance and salt-resistance ability. Polyanionic Cellulose (PAC) is a good filtrate reducer with the capacity of increasing viscosity and anti-high temperature (150°C) in the freshwater, seawater, or even saturated brine well-completion liquid. Poly-anionic cellulose is derived from Carboxy methyl cellulose and is also used in oilfield practice. PAC-ELV low viscosity polyanionic cellulosic polymer is used primarily as a fluid loss reducer. PAC ELV polymer is a high performance product, readily dispersible in water base drilling fluids ranging from fresh to saturated salt water. It is primarily used in weighted systems to avoid an uncontrollable viscosity build up. PAC minimizes mud costs as it is effective at low concentration and also it has a resistance against ions and is effective over a wide ph range.
