  • Linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid is the largest-volume synthetic surfactant because of its relatively low cost, good performance, the fact that it can be dried to a stable powder and the biodegradable environmental friendliness as it has straight chain.
  • LAS is an anionic surfactants with molecules characterized by a hydrophobic and a hydrophilic group.
  • The raw materials required to produce acid slurries are linear alkyl benzene, oleum, Sulphuric Acid and sulfonating agent.
  • Acid slurry or alkyl benzene sulphonate is prepared by sulphonation of Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) with a suitable sulphonating agent.
  • As bulk of the detergent formulations consist mainly of acid slurry, soda ash, sodium tripoly phosphate, etc. to start
    with, it would be sufficient if testing facilities are installed for determining the purity of these ingredients.
  • Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid (LABSA) - Soft Acid Slurry is main Raw Material for Synthetic Detergent industries in the formulation of Washing Powder, Detergent Powder, Detergent Cake, Liquid Soap, Cleaning Powder, Scouring Bar, Oil Soaps etc.
  • It is used in Anionic specialty formulations. In other Industries like textile industries it is used as mercerising or washing agent. It is used for increasing the surface area of distempers. Spent Acid is used by manufactures of Alum, Ferrous Sulphates, Super Phosphates etc.
